Getting started
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book directly through this website. If your GP would prefer to refer you, that is welcome too: GPs can write to mindbridge@healthmail.ie by Secure HealthMail. A referral is never required.
Who is the service for?
Adults aged 18 and over anywhere in the Republic of Ireland, for ADHD assessment and treatment, general psychiatric assessment, autism and AuDHD assessment, psychological therapy and addiction counselling. Teenagers aged 16 to 17 can be assessed for ADHD and AuDHD with a parent or guardian involved. See services & fees →
Is there a waiting list?
No. Public waiting lists for adult ADHD assessment exceed two to four years in many HSE areas. Here you choose your own appointment times online, and a clinician calls you within 24 hours of booking to confirm the assessment is the right next step.
Do you have evening and weekend appointments?
Yes. Appointments run Monday to Friday 9:00am to 9:00pm and Saturday to Sunday 9:00am to 5:00pm, Irish time, so care fits around work and family.
The assessment
How does the adult ADHD assessment work?
Three appointments, all by secure video call:
1 — Book and screen. Two validated questionnaires (current and childhood symptoms) arrive by email, and a clinician calls within 24 hours to confirm suitability.
2 — Structured assessment, 90 minutes. The DIVA-5 diagnostic interview against DSM-5 criteria, under the supervision of Dr Raaj, Consultant Psychiatrist.
3 — Results, 30 minutes. Dr Raaj explains the diagnosis, agrees a treatment plan and starts medication if indicated. Your written report and GP letter follow.

What should I prepare?
Complete the two questionnaires before your assessment; they let the clinician make the most of your time. On the day you need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a quiet, private space. If you have a previous assessment report or school reports, have them to hand.
Can a family member join?
Yes. A parent, partner or someone who knew you as a child is welcome to join part of the assessment to give a collateral history. It is helpful but not essential.
Do you assess teenagers?
Yes, aged 16 to 17, with a parent or guardian involved. The teen assessment (€1,300) uses Conners 4 rating scales, the QbCheck objective test, a clinical interview with developmental history and school input, and produces a report suitable for school supports and DARE. Teen ADHD assessment →
Medication
Can medication be prescribed after an online appointment?
Yes, where clinically indicated. Prescriptions are sent by Secure HealthMail to your GP or your pharmacy, so you collect your medication locally.
Why do I need a GP check before stimulant medication?
Before stimulant medication is started, your GP checks your blood pressure and heart rate, with an ECG if indicated. It is a standard safety step in Ireland. We tell you exactly what to ask for.
How does titration work, and how often am I reviewed?
Doses are adjusted at follow-up appointments by video: a 20-minute review is €150 and a 30-minute review is €200. Once you are stable, reviews continue regularly, typically every six months. [CONFIRM: review interval]
How do repeat prescriptions work?
Existing patients request a repeat prescription online for €40. It is sent by Secure HealthMail to your GP or pharmacy. Ongoing care →
I was diagnosed elsewhere. Can you take over my prescribing?
Yes. ADHD transfer of care is for people diagnosed elsewhere in Ireland or abroad, including anyone on an HSE waiting list with a private diagnosis. Send your existing report, have a 60-minute review with Dr Raaj, and prescribing and reviews are taken over without repeating the full assessment. Adults €450, teenagers €500. Transfer of care →
Fees and insurance
How much does the ADHD assessment cost, and what is included?
The adult ADHD assessment and treatment is €950, all-inclusive: screening questionnaires, the 90-minute DIVA-5 structured interview, the results consultation, diagnosis, treatment plan, prescription if indicated, your written report and a letter to your GP. No hidden charges. All fees →
Are you covered by Laya or VHI?
Laya Healthcare and VHI recognise Dr Raaj, Dr MacGillivray and Dr McCabe. What you get back depends on your plan, so check your cover before booking. You pay at booking and claim with your itemised receipt. Health insurance →
Do you provide receipts, and can I claim tax relief?
Yes. After every appointment you receive an itemised receipt with the consultant's IMC registration number, a breakdown of services and payment details, suitable for insurance claims. You can also claim 20% tax relief on unreimbursed medical expenses through Revenue myAccount. Tax relief →
How do I pay, and can I pay in instalments?
Securely online at booking by credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Revolut or bank transfer. Klarna lets you split the fee into three interest-free instalments, subject to eligibility. Payment options →
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Privacy
Is my information kept private?
Yes. Consultations take place by secure, encrypted video call, and your personal and health data is handled under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Nothing is shared with anyone, including your GP, without your consent, except where the law requires it. Privacy policy →
Will I get a copy of my report and records?
Yes. Your diagnostic report arrives as a password-protected PDF. It is yours to keep, and we send a letter to your GP only with your consent. Your records are held securely, and you have the right to access and correct them.
After diagnosis
What happens after the diagnosis?
You leave the results consultation with a treatment plan you have agreed. Your written report and GP letter follow. If medication is part of the plan, your GP does the cardiovascular check, the prescription goes by HealthMail, and follow-up appointments adjust the dose. Do you offer therapy as well as medication?
Yes. A six-week online CBT group for ADHD (€300), one-to-one psychological therapy with Dr MacGillivray (€150 a session) or Dr McCabe (€170), and addiction counselling with Ms Shaila (€80). Therapy & counselling →
