MindBridge Medical was founded in 2025 by a consultant psychiatrist based in Dublin with a vision to provide timely, secure, and comprehensive telepsychiatric treatment rooted in the latest evidence-based practices. Our mission is to make expert psychiatric care accessible to adults across the Republic of Ireland—especially those living in rural areas or facing long waiting lists for specialist services.

We understand the challenges many patients face when seeking mental health support, including geographical barriers and delays due to overburdened healthcare systems. MindBridge Medical addresses these challenges by offering prompt access to specialized consultant psychiatrists via a secure online platform, eliminating wait times and travel burdens.

Our services include thorough psychiatric and. psychological assessments, personalized treatment plans, ongoing medication management, psychological therapy and collaboration with your local healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care. All consultations are conducted by a consultant psychiatrist registered with the Irish Medical Council and recognized members of both the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland and the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK.

Our multidisciplinary team (MDT) includes a Consultant Psychiatrist, Senior Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Addiction Counsellor and Assistant Psychologist.

Dr. Shaeraine Raaj, Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr. Shaeraine Raaj is a consultant psychiatrist and founder of MindBridge Medical, with over 11 years of Irish clinical experience in the field of psychiatry. Based in Dublin, he is dedicated to providing expert and accessible mental healthcare across the Republic of Ireland. He is passionate about advancing telepsychiatry, promoting evidence-based assessments, and improving access to mental health care for underserved populations across Ireland. Dr. Raaj also maintains a strong commitment to medical education, multidisciplinary team collaboration, and ongoing innovation in clinical practice.

Dr. Raaj is a published researcher and has served as first author on research focusing on adult ADHD in the Republic of Ireland. Dr. Raaj has contributed to international research with papers published in BJP International, focusing on perinatal mental health and the prevalence of mental health conditions in Malaysia. His research has explored the high rates of perinatal psychiatric disorders, identified key risk factors, and highlighted the importance of culturally sensitive mental health services for mothers and families.

A central theme of Dr. Raaj’s work has been the reduction of stigma associated with seeking mental health support in Malaysia. His papers emphasize increasing community awareness and improving accessibility to psychiatric care, particularly for vulnerable populations. Through collaborative research, Dr. Raaj has advocated for improved service delivery, early intervention strategies, and policy changes aimed at integrating mental health support into general healthcare frameworks.

Dr. Raaj’s scholarly contributions have helped shape understanding of mental health trends in Malaysia and guided efforts to create more inclusive, supportive environments for those affected by mental illness.

Dr. Shaeraine Raaj holds a formal academic qualification in medical education and has extensive teaching experience across multiple levels of medical training. He has delivered lectures to medical undergraduates at University College Dublin (UCD) and conducted small group teaching, tutoring, and large group lectures for medical students at UCD.

In addition, Dr. Raaj has provided teaching and training support through the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He has served as an examiner for medical students during their psychiatric semester rotation exams and is actively involved in tutoring and mentoring specialist doctors who are currently undertaking their psychiatry training and examinations.

Kelly Howard, Service Manager

Kelly Howard, originally from the lovely Leitrim, now serves as Service Manager at MindBridge Medical. With her extensive psychiatric nursing background from University College Dublin (UCD) and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), she leads operations to enhance telepsychiatry services focused on psychiatric and psychological assessment, treatment, and therapy.

Kelly holds nursing qualifications from UCD and RCSI, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Leadership. Her experience is complemented by specialized roles in Ireland's HSE system, including the Mental Health Intellectual Disability (MHID) service at St Ita's Hospital, the Department of Psychiatry at Connolly Hospital, and the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Phoenix Care Centre. Kelly is a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) at the Hazel Day Hospital, at Connolly Hospital. She excels in leading clinical and non-clinical audits to ensure high standards.

Responsibilities include scheduling optimization, documentation management, coordination between patients, clinicians (including Dr. Raaj), and multidisciplinary teams; handling inquiries on services, assessments, and treatments; and spearheading clinical audits, compliance, and process improvements. Her proactive leadership, clinical insight, active listening skills honed as a nurse, and dedication to responsive, efficient support make her indispensable in scaling MindBridge's delivery of high-quality, understanding care.

Navina Shaila, Addiction Counsellor

Navina Shaila brings specialised expertise in addiction counselling to MindBridge Medical, delivering evidence-based therapy for lasting recovery, especially for ADHD clients with co-occurring addiction behaviour.

Professional Background

She earned her undergraduate degree at SEGi College (affiliated with Upper Iowa University, USA) in Malaysia, followed by a Master’s in Addiction Studies from Dublin Business School (DBS) in 2021. Her dissertation examined the lived experiences of pregnant women on methadone maintenance treatment. Navina then completed a second Master’s in Addiction Counselling from Irish College of Humanities & Applied Sciences (ICHAS) in 2025, focusing her dissertation on family members supporting individuals with substance misuse.

Navina's training encompassed over 120 hours of supervised placements at Cuan Dara inpatient addiction unit, Cherry Orchard Hospital (affiliated with the National Drug Treatment Centre, HSE). She further honed her skills at Focus Ireland, providing targeted interventions for clients navigating substance use and homelessness.

Dr Matthew MacGillivray, Clinical Psychologist

Dr Matthew MacGillivray is a Clinical Psychologist providing evidence based psychological therapy and consultation for adults.

His approach is grounded primarily in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, integrated with psychodynamic and attachment informed perspectives where helpful. This allows him to address both the current patterns that maintain difficulties and the earlier relational and developmental experiences that shape them.

He aims to provide a space that is thoughtful, structured, and grounded, while also being direct, collaborative, and reflective. Therapy is active and purposeful, with a clear focus on understanding difficulties and creating meaningful change.

Matthew is originally from Scotland. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology in Edinburgh before moving to Ireland to undertake a postgraduate degree in Psychological Science at University College Dublin. He later completed his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Limerick.

Dr Jean McCabe, Senior Psychologist

Dr. McCabe is a Senior Psychologist providing evidence based psychological assessment and therapy for adults.

Her particular area of professional interest is neurodivergence, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This interest began during her work with the Asperger Syndrome Project at Trinity College Dublin in 2010, supporting third-level students with autism. Since then, she has continued to develop her expertise in the assessment and support of neurodivergent individuals across a range of clinical settings. While recognising that diagnosis can be an important part of understanding an individual's experiences and needs. Dr. McCabe believes that it is only the beginning of the process. Her focus is on understanding the unique strengths, challenges, and personal circumstances of each individual, moving beyond diagnostic labels to develop a holistic understanding of the person

Dr. McCabe is a Senior Psychologist with extensive experience across adult mental health, intellectual disability, primary care, and community mental health services.

She holds a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from Trinity College Dublin and has worked in a variety of HSE and specialist mental health settings for over a decade.

Her clinical practice encompasses psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health and neurodevelopmental presentations, drawing on integrative approaches including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, schema-focused, person-centred, CBT and DBT-informed therapies.

She currently works within a multidisciplinary Adult Community Mental Health Service, providing assessment, formulation, and intervention for adults with complex needs.

Ms Ciara Douglas, Assistant Psychologist

Ciara Douglas is an Assistant Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology Mental Health providing Adult ADHD Assessment at Mindbridge Medical.

She has three years of experience working with neurodiversity and four years working with mental health and crisis management. Ciara is dedicated to a person-centred approach to service, and aims to provide a warm, collaborative space to support your personal journey.

Ciara is a graduate member of the Psychological Society of Ireland and carries out all work in line with their professional and ethical standards.

Professional Background

Ciara earned her level 8 degree in Psychology from University College Dublin, followed by her Master’s in Applied Psychology (Mental Health) from University College Cork. Her Master’s thesis focused on exploring the lived experience of ADHD and its diagnosis for adults in third level education in Ireland.

Ciara has worked in a teaching capacity with many neurodivergent children in the Centre for Talented Youth, Ireland (CTYI) as well as spending time in a care capacity with both adults and children in the following services:
