General questions

What is telepsychiatry, and how does it work? +

Telepsychiatry is specialist psychiatric care delivered remotely via secure video call. Instead of travelling to a clinic, you connect with Dr Shaeraine Raaj — our consultant psychiatrist — from wherever you are in Malaysia. Consultations, assessments, and follow-up appointments are all conducted online. You get the same standard of care as an in-person appointment, with none of the commute.

Is telepsychiatry as effective as seeing a psychiatrist in person? +

Yes. Research consistently shows that outcomes for remote psychiatric care are equivalent to in-person treatment. For many patients, the privacy and convenience of telepsychiatry actually improves engagement — people are more likely to attend appointments and stay in treatment longer when they can do so from home. For many Malaysians, it also removes the stigma of being seen entering a psychiatric clinic.

Do I need a GP referral to book an appointment? +

No referral is needed. You can book directly through our website without going through your GP first. If you already have a referral letter from your GP, you are welcome to share it — it will help us prepare for your consultation. Either way, you are welcome to reach out and book on your own terms.

What equipment do I need for my appointment? +

You will need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone (smartphone, tablet, or laptop), and a quiet, private space where you will not be overheard. A secure video link will be sent to you ahead of your appointment. That is all you need — no special software to download.

Our services

What conditions do you assess and treat? +

We currently offer three services for adults in Malaysia:

Comprehensive ADHD Assessment & Treatment — a full 3-stage diagnostic process for adults who suspect they may have ADHD.

General Psychiatric Assessment — assessment and treatment for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and other mental health conditions.

ADHD Transfer of Care — for adults already diagnosed with ADHD who want to transfer their ongoing care and medication management to MindBridge.

All services are for adults aged 18 and above. We do not currently offer child or adolescent services in Malaysia.
How does the ADHD assessment work? +

Our ADHD assessment follows international clinical guidelines and takes place across three stages:

Stage 1 — Pre-assessment questionnaires completed online at your own pace, covering your current and childhood symptoms.

Stage 2 — A 90-minute one-on-one video consultation with Dr Raaj, using the DIVA-5 — the internationally recognised structured diagnostic interview for adult ADHD — alongside DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.

Stage 3 — A 30-minute results and treatment consultation where your diagnosis, medication options (if applicable), and personalised care plan are discussed. A full written report is provided.

Can I get a prescription following an online appointment? +

Yes. If medication is clinically indicated following your assessment, Dr Raaj will issue a prescription recommendation. However, because of Malaysian medical regulations around stimulant medications, you will need to attend a local GP or clinic in Malaysia for cardiovascular monitoring — including blood pressure, heart rate, and an ECG if required — before a prescription can be dispensed locally.

This is a standard regulatory requirement for ADHD medication in Malaysia and applies to all prescribers, not just telepsychiatry. We will coordinate this process with you and your local GP.
Will I receive a written report after my assessment? +

Yes. Following your assessment, you will receive a comprehensive written report as a password-protected PDF to ensure your privacy. The report will outline the clinical findings, diagnosis (if applicable), and your recommended treatment plan. With your consent, a copy will also be shared with your local GP to support coordinated ongoing care.

What is the ADHD Transfer of Care service? +

If you have already been diagnosed with ADHD — whether in Malaysia or overseas — and are looking for ongoing care and medication management, our Transfer of Care service allows you to continue your treatment with MindBridge without starting the assessment process from scratch. We will review your existing diagnosis, current medication, and treatment history, and take over your ongoing care. This is ideal for patients who have relocated to Malaysia or whose previous psychiatrist is no longer available.

Section 03

Appointments &
scheduling

How do I book an appointment? +

You can book directly through our website at any time. Simply select the service you need, choose an available time slot, and complete payment to confirm your booking. You will receive an email confirmation with your secure video call link and any pre-appointment instructions.

We are currently in our pre-launch phase. Join our waiting list and you will be among the first to book when we open in August 2026.
What are your appointment hours in Malaysian time? +

Consultations are available during the following hours in Malaysian Standard Time (MYT, UTC+8):

Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 9:00pm

Saturday – Sunday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Evening appointments are available on weekdays, which means you can often attend without needing to take time off work.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy? +

We ask for at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice may result in the appointment fee being charged, as the time has been reserved exclusively for you. If you need to make changes, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@mindbridgemedical.com.

How do I book follow-up appointments? +

Follow-up appointments are available exclusively to existing MindBridge Malaysia patients. You can book through the same secure online booking system, choosing a time that works for you. Two types of follow-up are available — Standard (20 minutes, RM 300) for routine medication reviews, and Extended (30 minutes, RM 450) for more in-depth reviews and treatment discussions.

What happens before my appointment? +

Before your consultation, you will be asked to complete a short online pre-assessment questionnaire about your symptoms and personal history. This helps Dr Raaj understand your situation before the appointment begins and ensures we make the most of your consultation time. You will also receive a secure video link and instructions by email ahead of your session.

Comprehensive ADHD Assessment & Treatment (all 3 stages): RM 1,800

General Psychiatric Assessment: Please contact us for pricing

ADHD Transfer of Care: Please contact us for pricing

Standard Follow-Up (20 min): RM 300

Extended Follow-Up (30 min): RM 450

How do I pay for my appointment? +

Payment is made securely online before your appointment to confirm your booking. We accept the following payment methods for Malaysian patients:

Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard)

GrabPay and Touch 'n Go eWallet

Bank transfer — details provided at checkout

Detailed payment instructions are provided when you complete your booking.

Is my appointment covered by health insurance? +

We do not currently have direct billing arrangements with Malaysian health insurers. However, many insurance providers do offer reimbursement for specialist consultations — we recommend checking directly with your insurer to confirm your coverage for telepsychiatry services.

We provide a detailed itemised receipt following each appointment, which includes Dr Raaj's credentials, a full breakdown of services, and payment information — suitable for submission to your insurer.

Do you provide receipts? +

Yes. An itemised receipt is provided after every appointment. It includes Dr Raaj's full credentials and registration details, a detailed breakdown of services provided, and payment information. This receipt can be used for insurance reimbursement claims.

Section 05

Privacy &
confidentiality

Is my information kept private? +

Absolutely. All sessions are conducted over secure, encrypted video platforms and your medical information is handled in strict confidence — in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010 and established medical ethics. Your information is never shared with third parties without your explicit consent.

Will anyone else know I am seeking psychiatric care? +

No. Your consultation is entirely private. You attend from your own home or a private location of your choosing — there is no waiting room, no clinic entrance, and no chance of being seen by someone you know. We understand that in Malaysia, privacy around mental health care matters enormously, and we have designed our service with that in mind.

Your GP will only be informed of your appointment and its outcomes if you explicitly give us consent to share your report with them.
