ADHD · Transfer of care
Already diagnosed? Transfer your ADHD care to a consultant psychiatrist.
For adults and teenagers with an existing ADHD diagnosis, made in Ireland or abroad. One 60-minute review with Dr Raaj, then prescribing and reviews taken over. Adults €450, teens €500.
You have the diagnosis. You need a prescriber.
Transfer of care is for people who already have an ADHD diagnosis and need ongoing treatment from a consultant psychiatrist in Ireland:
- Diagnosed elsewhere in Ireland, by a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist, and now without a prescriber.
- Diagnosed abroad and moved home, or moved to Ireland for work or study.
- On the HSE waiting list with a private diagnosis and no one to continue your medication.
- Lost your prescriber because a clinic closed or a doctor moved on, and your medication needs continuing.
You do not repeat the full assessment. We review what you have, screen for anything that has been missed, and take it from there.
Three things before your appointment.
- Your assessment report or diagnosis letter, emailed to admin@mindbridgemedical.ie for review before you are seen.
- Recent blood pressure and heart rate readings, plus height and weight for teenagers. If there is a personal or family history of heart conditions, an ECG is required and we coordinate it with your GP.
- Your current medication and dose, if you are taking any, and your GP's details for HealthMail.
ADHD transfer of care, adults
€450
For adults 18+ with a pre-existing ADHD diagnosis
A 60-minute review with Dr Raaj by secure video, in which he:
- Reviews your existing diagnosis and documentation.
- Screens for and rules out comorbid mental health conditions.
- Agrees a personalised treatment plan with you.
- Issues a prescription by Secure HealthMail if medication is indicated.
Prescribing and reviews are taken over from your previous clinician. No repeat of the full assessment. The fee includes any script issued during the appointment.
ADHD transfer of care, teenagers 16-17
€500
For teenagers aged 16 and 17 with a pre-existing ADHD diagnosis
The same 60-minute review with Dr Raaj, with a parent or guardian involved:
- Review of the existing diagnosis and documentation.
- Screening for comorbid mental health conditions.
- Collateral history from a parent.
- A treatment plan agreed with the teenager and parent, and a prescription by Secure HealthMail if indicated.
Medication is started or continued only with the consent of both the teenager and a parent. Blood pressure, heart rate, height and weight are needed before the appointment.
Continuing or changing medication.
If you are already stable on medication, Dr Raaj continues it and takes over your reviews. If you are starting stimulant medication, or changing it, your GP first checks blood pressure and heart rate, with an ECG if there is a personal or family history of heart conditions.
Prescriptions go by Secure HealthMail to your GP or pharmacy. Titration follow-ups are 20 minutes for €150 or 30 minutes for €200. Once stable, reviews continue regularly, typically every six months [CONFIRM: review interval], and repeat prescriptions cost €40 and can cover up to three months.
The practical details.

- Hours. Monday to Friday 9am to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm. Evening and weekend appointments available across the Republic of Ireland.
Do I have to repeat the ADHD assessment?
No. Transfer of care reviews the diagnosis you already have. If your documentation is incomplete or the diagnosis is unclear, Dr Raaj will tell you at the review what further assessment, if any, is needed.
Do you accept a diagnosis made abroad or by a psychologist?
Yes. Diagnoses from clinical psychologists and from international providers are welcome. Send the report to admin@mindbridgemedical.ie before you book so it can be reviewed.
I am on the HSE waiting list with a private diagnosis. Can you take over?
Yes. Many patients use transfer of care to start or continue treatment while they wait for a public service, and your GP is kept informed by HealthMail throughout.
Can my GP refer me?
A referral is welcome but not required. GPs can write to mindbridge@healthmail.ie by Secure HealthMail. All questions →
