Mental and physical health are bound together, yet many adults in rural areas or on long public waiting lists cannot get timely specialist care. Our telepsychiatry service gives you a consultant psychiatrist from home, at a time that suits you. We assess and treat:
- Anxiety disorders: generalised anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety and specific phobias.
- Mood disorders: major depression and bipolar disorder.
- OCD and intrusive thoughts, and PTSD and trauma-related symptoms.
- Adjustment and stress-related disorders, and sleep problems linked to a psychiatric condition.
- Personality and psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and related conditions.
- Neuropsychiatric conditions where brain disorders and mental health overlap, through the dedicated service below.
Dr Raaj is registered with the Irish Medical Council (Specialist Division) and is a member of the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland and the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

For anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, bipolar and mood disorders
A thorough first appointment of 45 to 60 minutes with Dr Raaj, in which he:
- Reviews your medical, personal and social history.
- Discusses your current symptoms and how they affect daily life.
- Explains the diagnosis and the treatment options open to you.
- Agrees a personalised care plan, with a prescription by Secure HealthMail if medication is recommended.
- Refers you to our clinical psychologist or counsellor if therapy is the right next step.
A report is sent to you and your GP after the assessment. Follow-ups (20 minutes €150, 30 minutes €200) are typically every two to four weeks at first, then about every two months once stable. Reports for third parties are charged according to complexity and purpose.

Where the mind meets the brain
Neuropsychiatry sits between neurology and psychiatry. It covers psychiatric symptoms arising from neurological conditions and the behavioural and cognitive effects of brain disorders: functional neurological disorder (FND), traumatic brain injury, post-stroke psychiatric complications, catatonia, epilepsy, movement disorders and dementia. FND symptoms such as weakness, tremor, non-epileptic seizures or speech and sensory changes are genuine and involuntary, and with the right diagnosis and treatment many patients improve.
A 60-minute evaluation with Dr Raaj that includes:
- Detailed clinical interview and mental state examination.
- Review of previous medical reports, neurology correspondence and psychiatric assessments.
- Collateral history from family or treating clinicians where appropriate.
- Review of brain imaging (MRI or CT) and other investigations.
- Correspondence with your GP, neurologist or other specialists to clarify the picture.
- Diagnostic formulation, treatment recommendations and guidance on further investigations or referrals.
Dr Raaj trained in the neuropsychiatry clinic at Beaumont Hospital and, as a higher specialist trainee, ran the neuropsychiatry outpatient clinic at the Mater University Hospital, managing FND and catatonia across inpatient and outpatient settings. Where psychological treatment is indicated, he works jointly with Dr Matthew MacGillivray, Clinical Psychologist, formerly of the Beaumont Neuropsychology Service, on shared formulation, CBT for FND and cognitive rehabilitation, in coordination with your GP and neurologist.
No referral, no waiting list.
Choose a date and time in the online booking calendar and pay securely to confirm. Within 24 hours you receive an introduction call and your secure video link. No GP referral is needed, though a GP can refer by Secure HealthMail to mindbridge@healthmail.ie if they prefer.
If medication is prescribed, the script goes by HealthMail to your GP or pharmacy. Before any stimulant medication, your GP checks blood pressure and heart rate, with an ECG where indicated. If therapy is part of the plan, you are referred within the team to Dr MacGillivray, Dr McCabe or our addiction counsellor.

- Insurance and receipts. Laya Healthcare and VHI recognise Dr Raaj; cover depends on your plan. Itemised receipts with the IMC number for claims and 20 percent tax relief through Revenue.
- Payment. Card, Apple Pay, Revolut or bank transfer at booking. Klarna pay-in-3 available.
- Cancellations. 48 hours' notice to change or cancel without charge.
- Hours. Monday to Friday 9am to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm. Evening and weekend appointments available across the Republic of Ireland.
- Privacy. Encrypted video, records held under GDPR, nothing shared without your consent.
Care that continues after the assessment.
Existing patients book follow-ups with Dr Raaj by secure video: a 20-minute review for €150 or a 30-minute review for €200, covering progress, side effects and treatment adjustments, with a script if needed. Patients stable on medication can request a repeat prescription for €40, sent by Secure HealthMail to your GP or pharmacy.
